Address:106 Osage Avenue, Bismarck, ND
Rev. Dr. Julie A. K Anderson
Associate Pastor of Congregational Life and Pastoral Care
Pastor Julie came to Good Shepherd in November 2018 From Minnesota. She is a graduate of Luther Seminary in 2007 where she utilized the online learning to serve as a lay minister while her husband served as a pastor in North Dakota. She was ordained and installed at Winds of the Prairie Ministries, a five point area parish in Southwestern Minnesota. While there she studied at Sioux Falls Seminary and received a Doctor of Ministry in May of 2015 in Congregational Leadership. She served on the Synod Council twice in her 11 years in SWMN and was a resource for congregations considering cooperative ministry.
Pastor Julie loves to work with people to help them explore and discover their gifts for ministry. She served with the GIFTS program as one of the lay leaders which helped her to discern her call to ministry. She considers challenges as an opportunity to learn for herself and others. Participation by all members in the mission and ministry of a congregation is vital for the life of the Church and the individual person. Each of us is called daily to our baptism by living like what we learn at worship from the Bible really matters. Pastor Julie enjoys having discussions around the Bible and current topic to make the connections real for today. When you have a dream or passion for ministry that is in you, Pastor Julie would love to work with you to discover where that dream is calling you to serve.
Pastor Julie is a lifelong Lutheran with a Grandmother who was doing ecumenical stuff long before it was popular. The life of a congregation has always been an important part of her life as she and husband Pastor Gene moved around. They met at NDSU and have lived in the Twin Cities, Quad Cities, North Dakota and Texas. They have two children who live in Minot and Moorhead. Grandparenthood came in 2017 and they are looking forward to be close enough to care for and spoil the grandkids a little. Pastor Julie enjoys creative endeavors such as sewing and crafts. In the warmer weather she enjoys walks and golf while in the colder weather tries to be a diligent Y participant. They are even more fun when done with others so she is open to invitations to share fun.
Pastor Julie is excited about the energy, spirit and mission of Good Shepherd. She is looking forward to exploring and learning from everyone about Good Shepherd and your dreams for ministry.
