Jesus said, “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit…” Matthew 28:19
Baptism is not simply water, but water together with God’s Word. In baptism water flows over an infant, a child, or an adult, and through the water and the Word God touches this marvelous crown of creation, this precious human being and claims each one for all eternity. It is grace-filled, life-giving water that washes each one clean and makes them new. It is a new day, and the newly baptized child of God is called to “walk wet” all the days of his or her life.
God Bless Your Wedding Day.
Your wedding day is one of the most important days in your life. Very properly you want God’s blessing on this occasion and desire to have your vows consecrated by the Word of God and prayer. Beautiful flowers, dresses, and decorations have their place on this joyous occasion. Yet, you know that tremendously more important than these is the blessing at Cana with God’s presence and promise to bless you forever with Christ’s unending, unconditional love.
The loss of a loved one is a very difficult experience. Whether you are pre-planning a funeral service, or if a funeral is a sudden event that has become your responsibility, a good place to start is Good Shepherd Lutheran Church’s Funeral Policy and Planning Guide.
