Job Opportunities
The Caring Ministries Coordinator supports the members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, and others in need, by providing resources for caring and support through illness, loss, and other vulnerable times of life. Develops, coordinates and supports member-to-member caring ministry programs. Provides a focal point for basic assessment and referral to appropriate programs, support systems or care; and provides “triage” to insure timely and appropriate referrals. Maintains an awareness of needs and opportunities in the congregation by daily contacts and routine interactions at worship services. Coordinates with the Parish Nurse to help provide nurturing of wholeness and healing of body, mind and spirit for all members.
This is a part-time position (20 hours per week) without benefits. Typical work schedule is from 9-12, Mon-Fri, (15 hours) plus routine evening and weekend work (5 hours). Depending on the needs of the successful applicant, this can be either a 9-month or a 12-month position.
Education and Experience Requirement: A related bachelor’s degree and five years experience in occupations related to health care, mental health, counseling or social services.
